Products - User Guide
The Products feature in Tracepos allows business owners to manage their product inventory efficiently. This includes adding new products, editing existing ones, categorizing products, and tracking stock levels. The system supports various product types, such as single products, variable products, services, and materials. Below is a detailed guide on how to use the Products page and its features.
Accessing the Products Page
- Navigate to the Inventory menu in the Tracepos dashboard.
- Select Products from the submenu to access the product management page.
Overview of Features
1. View Products
- Purpose: See a list of all products in the system.
- Details Displayed:
- Product Name: The name of the product.
- Category: The category the product belongs to.
- Brand: The brand associated with the product.
- Stock Levels: Current stock levels for the product.
- Sales Price: The selling price of the product.
- Purchase Price: The cost price of the product.
- Actions: Options to view, edit, or delete the product.
2. Add a New Product
- Purpose: Add a new product to the inventory.
- Steps:
- Click the + Add Product button at the top of the page.
- Fill in the required details in the Add/Edit Product form:
- Product Name:
- Enter the name of the product.
- Product Type:
- Choose the type of product:
- Single Product: A standalone product with a fixed price and stock.
- Variable Product: A product with variations (e.g., size, color).
- Service: A non-stockable service (e.g., repair, consultation).
- Material: Raw materials used in production.

- Category:

- Select the brand associated with the product.

- Enter the selling price of the product.

3. Edit an Existing Product
- Purpose: Update the details of a previously added product.
- Steps:
- Locate the product you want to edit in the list.
- Click the Edit button next to the product.
- Modify the necessary fields in the form:
- Update the product name, type, category, brand, prices, or stock levels.
4. Delete a Product
- Purpose: Remove a product that is no longer needed.
- Steps:
- Select one or more products using the checkboxes in the list.
- Click the Delete button.
- Confirm the deletion in the popup dialog.
5. Import Products
- Purpose: Bulk upload products using a CSV file.
- Steps:
- Click the Import Products button at the top of the page.
- Download the sample CSV file to ensure the correct format.
- Fill in the product details in the CSV file.
- Upload the file using the import dialog.
- Review and confirm the imported products.
6. Filter and Search Products
- Purpose: Quickly find products based on specific criteria.
- Steps:
- Use the search bar to find products by name or code.
- Apply filters to narrow down the product list:
- Category: Filter products by category.
- Brand: Filter products by brand.
